What is Alcoholics Anonymous?

Alcoholics Anonymous was an organization that was started in 1935 by two men who had problems with drinking alcohol.

They are a non-denominational, non-political organization. Membership is open to anyone who wants to work on living a life of sobriety.

Narcotics Anonymous was founded in 1955 as a group to support people recovering from drug addictions.

What is SMART Recovery?

SMART Recovery is a different approach to addiction recovery. They focus on a science-based program to empower participants to change and lead fulfilling lives.

SMART Recovery focuses on any addiction or harmful behavior and does not limit to only drugs or alcohol addictions.

These meetings are a peer support-based group and are open to anyone looking to overcome harmful behaviors.

Limited locations in and around the Albany area hold in-person SMART Recovery meetings. Meetings are also held online.
